Ten-year old Kids & Family producer/distributor Beauty Pageant Cinema (www.astralocean.com) has entered the hotel business. As in, they've built a new hotel. As in, it's actually a cyber-hotel, HotelBabes.com (www.hotelbabes.com), a 24-hour live-cam website, featuring hardcore "Amsterdam"-style sex and chat with full-motion video and live audio via Windows RealMedia Player.
    "We took a plain industrial-type building and built it to resemble a women's hotel of a sort, like the places women stayed when they went to New York seeking a career," says Beauty Pageant's Director of Marketing, Lysa Stone.
    The brand-spanking new "hotel" consists of 10 rooms, including a lobby, dressing rooms, a shower, an indoor/outdoor Jacuzzi, and a full gym, where at any given moment surfers will find couples having sex on the workout benches, or just working out in the buff. Fetishists will enjoy viewing the bondage area, as well as the "toilet cam," which the site advertises with a catchy, "Not a drop wasted. It's the only bathroom in the hotel."
    We were lucky enough to tour the facility at the end of May, just a few weeks after Hotel Babes went online. On hand were three different girls, each of a different body-type and ethnic background, lending a sort of universal, all-bases-covered appeal to the site. Moreover, all were having more than a little fun with sex toys and fingers. In the reception area, which any webmaster can add to their site for free (chat included!), an equally sexy female chatted with and teased her male nudist audience.
    Couples and other talent generally work in shifts, similar to the sex houses that make up Amsterdam's famous (and infamous) Red Light district. Members get full access to everything in the house, from solo and couples sessions, to group sex, and even full-blown orgies. Currently, it's about a dollar a minute to view the site with a high-speed connection; but as anyone who's seen high-speed Net video can attest, the price can be well worth it. "It's like having the girls in your living room," says Stone.
    Moreover, if members aren't satisfied with seeing regular ol' joes doing the nasty, they can log in for a piece of action with one of adult entertainment's hottest stars, Jill Kelly. "In a happy coincidence, Jill Kelly lost her affiliation with the host company that was producing her live site, Wired Pink," Stone says. "And she decided to move her operations to Hotelbabes.com. So that's where you'll find Jill today, resuming her live scenes both solo and with her man Julian." Members can also chat with Kelly as she does her thing via the webcams.
    The entire facility is security-controlled and offers a clean, vital workplace for its employees. "We really wanted to build a premiere facility with premiere talent, and I think we have. Our talent has a safe, clean place to perform and it's a pleasurable experience for everyone," says Astral Ocean president Toshi Gold. "We had been trying to put together this type of a project for a few years, but the technology envelope hadn't been pushed far enough where we could. Luckily for us, we have our VP of Operations [Brian Wright] who is an amazing technician. He invented the software and the hardware for HotelBabes.com, and he wired the entire facility for this. And we put in about a half-million dollar investment that enabled us to push out in real time with sound."
    Gold says the site also features a webmasters section and an affiliate program, with competitively priced streaming packages available.
